MB's trip to Spa
Just got back from 2 days at Spa with BookaTrack!
I was very excited about the prospect of doing Spa, and it didn't disappoint.
I went with the Doris, and anothe chap from the Exige forum who has a modified NA Exige. He cleverly trailered his, while I was hardcore and drove mine there
It's a really comfy car from a seating point of view, and 3 hours either side was fine, just a bit noisy on shite roads over 70 mph.
So anyway we got there the day before and it was raining. It was then raining in the morning and there were a lot of glum looking people in the briefing. I decided to text Chilled at this point for some moral support The thought of doing Spa in the wet on semi slicks was none too appealing! Johnys usual safety briefing comedy lifted the mood, and people got on with swapping to grippy tryes etc.
Out on the sighting 4 laps and it felt very slippy, and some of the corners have minimal run off, and very little gravel trappage. I wasn't happy! It felt like the Ring in some bits due to this.
Got back in and decided to wait for it to dry out, and take some pics. There were some serious machines there, mostly big boys toys. Lambo, many 911's in their normal guises, loads of Caterhams, Noble, Radical, Lotus 211, Ferarri 430 Scuderia, 355, Atoms, M3's, - just all sorts! One thing which amused me was the guy in a brand new M5 estate, towing a GT3 RS. How

Looks like you had a good trip mark.
I'm hoping you mean the one on the right!
The ride was in exchange for a ride on their daughter, but this request was lost in translation I think

Looks fantastic and surely what your car is all about
I really want to go next year and hire a batcat but you've got to get in quick and it's for me to plan that far ahead

I love Spa, never driven it but it's the most amazing place to spectate, being in a natural amphitheatre, and I've always fancied going on a trackday there.
Looks like you had fun, and I'm officially jealous.
Ralston and I tried to get on the BaT one in his Tuscan last year, but they were full (we were staying after the Spa 9 hours race and saw a load of British cars on trailers passing us on the way to the track) so we went to the 'Ring instead (about 2 hours drive away).
BTW Mark, your input is needed in my 'Car dilemma' thread too
