Default Foliage, WWII re-enactment and old cars

Took a ride to Stow MA today. The Collings Foundation which flies and displays historic aircraft was having an event. They opened to the public. You had an opportunity to see the cars in their buildings. Excellent old vehicles in excellent condition. Some old aircraft, you could get a ride in a PT17 Stearman 1/2 hour $230. A bit pricey for us, or a T-6 Texan 45 minutes for $450.00

There was also a WWII re-enactment, a "battle for the airfield." I expected a bit more drama, but it was very well done.

Some pics from the day.

The cars:

Period clothing

A Rolls assembled in Springfield, MA

A dress for the lady in the Rolls

BMW!

It's a Subaru!

Sprint cars? Midgets? (nice collection these...camera battery running low)

Some aircraft

More:
The battle

German camp and plane. This plane took off and flew so slowly....wasn't sure it would stay up there.

And these pics are weird. The Collings Foundation is across from some kind of pond/lake.

We stopped to take a couple of pics. The water was so still, it provided a great reflection of the foliage....not the greatest pics, but weird in a way, so I thought I'd post it.

Your boys would have loved it!

They have an event in June... I say S2000 meet!

Bring some chairs, pack a picnic lunch, look at the cars and watch the event.

They have one where some old cars race planes down the airstrip.....

I'll keep an eye open for the next event.

Here's their website

Good to see you today!

No S2000s among the cars on display. What was up with that?
