Wink HEADGASKET is Fine, jumped the gun without

Well, after 2,564 miles, my Headgasket looks to be gone.

Yesterday I noticed when I got home the Overflow tank was near full, about 1/4 from the top. I did some pulls and car looked/sounded good, didnt overheat or anything. So this morning I take out some of the coolant out of the overflow tank, pop open the radiator and start the car and let it go through one cycle, car was hanging out around 183F. I polished the car took the hardtop off and started on my way to the short where my wife is waiting for me,

I start the car afterwards and put the heat on to make sure my H/G isnt gone, the heat worked fine at IDLE, then...................................DRUM ROLL

I start to drive and within about 2 minutes the TEMP gauge goes past normal, I hook up my computer to the EMS and Mother****er 221F

I put the heat on and nothing, I pulled over popped the hood and the overflow tank is right where I left it, right in between the MIN & MAX line, I thought it would be overflowing.

I touched the top hose, it was HOT, the bottom Hose is COLD Thermostat maybe?)

Anyway I really don't know what I am going to do, I am tired of pissing away money on this ****** car. Right in the smack middle of summer and not even 3,000 miles.

Also I don't trust the Series 2 and I wouldnt waste your money on this peice of shit. Can;t even datalog and decided out of nowhere to pull massive amounts of timing which I am sure lead to this, ****** joke............

Sounds like a thermostat problem.

Joey, sorry to hear about the possible issues. Disconnect the radiator fans and try and jack the front of the car so its the highest point. Let the car idle, or rev to 2-3k, with heat on full blast until the lower radiator pipe gets hot. Turn off the car and let it cool, then pour contents of overflow into radiator. Do it one more time and it'll be fully bled. That should allow you to at least drive down to the shore to see your wife.

squeeze the radiator tubes. Do you hear air in the system? you have no heat right? You said you had no heat right? There are different levels of blown headgaskets, and sometimes it won't shoot coolant into the overflow tank, it'll just not allow the coolant to be sucked back in after the car is shut off. Try what i told you and get your heat back first. If you get hot heat out of the vents at idle, you know that the system is almost completely bled.

You should read TrboKev latest post, sounds like you guys are telling the same story.

I told Kevin to get the Cosworth gasket which is only 1.1mm but the quality is great.

Personally I think a lot of the failures we are seeing with low mileage are due to very slight preignition and high boost levels. This has me thinking hard about how I am going to set up my tune.

If I keep the car long enough to pull the motor I am defiantly going to look at o-ringing the block/head. As well as a more advanced Knock control/detection than is currently offered.

As for the AEM, S2000442 is also have LOTS of trouble and bought KPRO after a month of issues. I would highly recommend you do the same. There is a local member (GpWaP1 s2k) that is selling a almost brand new KPRO who might hook you up otherwise I hear Evans has the best KPRO deals in the country.

I think you just tested the limit of the 3mm HG. I think you need to stay around the 20 psi or 500hp range or you need to do a built motor.

Sorry man..

^^I don't think that's true.

My guess is with that last screw up (red hot manifold) coolant temps might have shot up too high and warped the gasket.

Either way, with the proper install, it doesn't just go bad after 3k miles. Obviously something caused it...
