Default Transmission power loss ?

Hey guys,

What sort of percenatge in power is lost through the F20 and its OEM drivetrain.

I have the figures at the wheels but am curious at what they are at the fly wheel.

221bhp
143ft/lb of torque

This isn't for science just out of interest really.

Cheers .

An efficient RWD tranny like the BMW could be as low as 11% on a 6MT.
15% is often punched in on the Dyno Dynamics tests I have seen for S2000.

Typically 18%, on the dyno i use 18% IIRC on my S.

Depends on the dyno type (load, internia etc), tyres, day, correction factor i could go on and on.

221BHP @ Wheel is pretty high IMHO.

Sorry to burst your bubble Suits, but 221.7 at the wheels would be around 260 flywheel. Unless your S is turbocharged for a 10 year old car that's not going to happen, it only left Japan with 238 horses max.

The graph you've got is more likley at the flywheel, see my M56 cars chart below

Even so that would be 247 horses flywheel around 202 at the wheels, and like I said 10 years later and how many miles?

It's a JDM with 61'000 miles a AEM EMS, Mugen Filter, Ricks Racing Header, decat and a Mugen exhaust.

Mapped by MASE.

Don't worry, you won't burst my bubble.

No, I never said it was.

It had nothing to do with my question.

Your right though, I worked it out at about 255 at the flywheel.
