First time s2000 owner in ABQ, NM
Hi All,
Just wanted to introduce myself to the forums. My name's JP from Albuquerque, NM and I just recently purchased a pretty neglected 2003 NFR S2000 with 123,000 for $4500 that had a check engine light with the dreaded "random/multiple misfire code" and some failed attempts at fending rolling from the previous owner. I threw the car on a trailer and brought it down from Santa Fe, NM and started to diagnose the CEL thanks to these forums. I ended up replacing the coil packs and spark plugs, cleaned the IAC and checked the voltage on the MAP and all checked out. Ran a compression test and got around 210 on all cylinders (note that I am over 5000ft. Above sea level, hence the lower compression readings I believe). Ended up pulling the injectors and sent them off to Witch Hunter to get them tested and rebuilt. Found out one was completely bad and the others were flowing sub par. Ordered a new OEM injector and got the other 3 back, threw them in and that solved the problem! So all in all i'm in it for about $5400 for a running S2K. So happy to have it up and running as I didn't even get to drive it at WOT before I purchased it. Drives great for a car with that many miles and being 13 years old. Next step is bringing the body up to the standards I would like. I have ordered some OZ Ultraleggera wheels in matte bronze with some Michelin Pilot Super Sports to start. Will hope to start a build thread to keep record of the project. Excited to be part of the forums!
