I bought a U-bend last year to get this done at Ben Nielsen's Skyline Automotive (Auto Repair in Falls Church, VA | Ben Nielsen's Skyline Automotive). They have a welder there and can do it. Hopefully I'll find the time to get it done in the next few weeks.

bumping this - anybody know of any shops on the MD side? I asked one in Pasadena and they wanted $350 on the car or $250 if I removed the exhaust and left it with them, which both seemed insane. I'd be happy to do it for under $200, but my time to drive somewhere on the other end of DC is limited.

If anyone wants to hear it let me know I've got it done on mine. Not sure of the diameter but I'm sure it's an easy measure.
