AP1 Coilover installation part
Hi, i am putting the H&R coilovers on my car which does not come with the top strut mount. Of course, i can re-use the old strut mount, however, i would like the flexibility of leaving the stock set in a piece.
So if i get OEM parts, all the parts cost me around $300 easy for all 4 corners. Is there any cheap alternative? i have found 3rd party strut mount on ebay, i am not sure if they are trust worthy.
I am not sure if someone has experienced this before.
Any input is welcomed.
thanks

Buy a used set of OEM springs and shocks. Harvest the mounts. Buy blown ones so they're cheap. Tophats dont wear out.
Do you also need the OEM bumpstop washer? Or dust boot washer? Or any other OEM shock part?
If not...then find someone selling used OEM tophat assemblies by themselves. Make sure they come with bushings and spring donuts.
S2000's have reinforced bushings in the mounts. So no...there aren't any good cheap knockoff alternatives.
Pro tip: Do not use an impact to disassemble or assemble the top hats to the shock.
