Default 2piece rotors

Anyone running a 2 piece rotor with stock calipers. Around 2-2.5lb unsprung weight savings and more durable. Are these rotors a waste of money at 650.00 a pair? Shall I just stock some extra oem rotors and wait for them to crack? Thanks

You'll probably get a lot of better information there. I was looking into racing brake two piece rotors a while back, someone said you could get around 20 track days out of a set of rings, but the rotors cost over $600 and the replacement rings were almost $400. Based on this 20 track days/ring number, it's cheaper to throw out brembo blanks and put a fresh set on every four track days than use the racing brake rotors. When I was using stock calipers, I just always had a spare set on hand and would order a set ahead. I ended up getting a BBK for not much more than the two piece rotors cost, and my replacement rings are $52/ea.

Not worth it for OEM calipers.

i was thinking for the accord v6 caliper upgrade. the 2 piece rotor is balanced in the center of the accord bracket and you just use brake pads that are 15.5mm or less and your ggod to go with better braking before turns and the rotors and pads last longer due to better heat dissipation. this project is 800 dollars cheaper than the bbk i wanted to fit but my rims wont clear so the idea of the accord kit came to mind. i just wonder if the brake cylinder is powerful enough or do i have to swap some sheet out

The master cylinder should be fine. I had contemplated about this setup at one point.

Here's some great info about that setup:

FWIW I have the 3R Wilwood BBK and it was a little over $1k without pads. It has the best clearance of a BBK with aftermarket calipers. I have 17x9 +63 nurburgrings and plenty of clearance between the spokes and calipers.

This accord setup sounds legit. I'm just getting started with racing but I know I will fry the stocks up. I guess for the additional 350.00 I can upgrade to accord calipers since I was already contemplating just the two piece for the stock caliper

FYI: The 3R kit is not only better than the Accord setup, it will pay for itself in pad and rotor (rings can be had for $50) replacement costs if you keep tracking it.
