Default Emanage Ultimate with Windows 7

I have recently updated my laptop to Windows 7 and installed E-manage ultimate software from the CD then updated to 2.20. The software runs fine. I can view old log files and load old maps, but cannot connect to the Emanage. It appears to be a driver issue.

I haven't tried contacting Greddy yet but would not expect much help from them anyway based on my previous experiences with their customer service.

Help or input from anyone is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

Doesn't window 7 ultimate include an xp compatibility mode so long as your computer supports virtualization?

Only Widows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate have "XP Mode". I only have Windows 7 Home Edition. The upgrade from Home to Professional would cost around $100 and still not be guaranteed to work.

I luckily was able to figure out the compatibility issues I was having on my old XP laptop with the Emanage software. So I plan to just use the old one.

If anyone has tried the "XP mode" on Windows 7 with success please let me know.

You could run VMware. I'm pretty sure they have a trial or something

VMware Server, Sun VirtualBox and Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 are all free. Of the three, VirtualBox would be my preference if I didn't have a VMware Workstation license. I know that VirtualBox also supports USB device passthrough, not sure with the other two.

I went and got a netbook for all my windows xp needs. I can use it for all my tuning, track software and audio tuning via alpine.

Are you guys using 32 bit or 64 bit Win 7? I recently upgraded from 32 bit Win 7 to 64 bit for the performance boost, but am disappointed that there seems to be a lot less driver and software support for 64 bit.

I am running the 64-bit version. I never did get my Windows 7 computer to running with the EMU. I basically gave up once I got my old XP laptop up and running again.

I would definitely like to here more about the VMware option though.
