question regarding upgrading to NOVI 1220
What do I need to know? LOL
My current set up has made 317whp on the stock pulley and is as follows.
F20C w/ARP head studs
Stock Comptech A/C kit
VAFC to pull fuel, basically to smooth it out a little
OEM header
T1R 70mm V3 w/test pipe
Walbro 255
I was planning on installing my 750 injectors, aem ems, and 12 psi pulley. However this swap is intriguing me.
I guess I know that I will need a different bracket. What else is needed to convert my older comptech kit and what are the advantages and disadvantages.
I am hoping for around 400whp and a fair amount of torque. It seems like the NOVI 1000 is limited to around 370whp from what i have gathered.
My biggest aggravation with the current set up is that the power doesn't really start to pour on until well into the rpm range. I know with a smaller pulley I should see some better numbers down low.
Thanks for any advice/information/suggestions.

I opted with the 1200 novi.. my setup on the stock pulley made 270kw atw which equates to around 360 hp was dyno'd on a Dyno dynamics. I went with e85 as my compression is a little higher than standard. The 1220 and 1200 are very similar but I would steer away from a SL model, they have been having some issues.

I would stay away from self lubrication blowers, mine took a shit in less then 15k miles. I was outside of a year and paid $1000 to trade up to my Novi 1200. I am not a expert but I have read that I am not alone when it comes to the Novi 1220SL dieing off pretty early on.
Go with a Novi 1200 Oil Fed.

Yeah not worth the expense to upgrade to a 1220. If your going to do it at all the 1200 oil fed will net you more power. The NV1000 will get you to 400whp no problem though if that will satisfy you.

Basically agreed with everyone on the SL...upgrade for the 1200 and leave some room for over 400 if you want to go there.
The 1200/1220 wasn't an option when I purchased mine. I have debated on upgrading to the 1200, but I want mine 1000 to crap out. Which, believe it or not, has been great to me with the exception I wanted 400 whp and I came up short.
Good luck!
