Default Re-Badge

Ok, so I know there are a million +1 topics on De-Badgeing your car, but I haven't found much on Re-Badgeing. I Purchased my 06 GPW about a month ago and one of the previous owners had de-badged the "S 2000" and replaced the amber side markers with clear, looks OK, just not my cup of tea. I was wondering if anyone has the specs for spacing between the side marker vs the "S" VS the "2000". Its not in my blood to just eyeball it and say, "Heh, close enough" LOL!

Awwww Schnapp! Check you out! Thanks Mang! Im not sure if im more excited that I now have the measurements, or that you actually knew what I was talking about! LOL! Thanks again! I'll post before and after Pics after I "Re-Badge" this weekend!
Looking closer it looks as though the "S 2000" sits on different sides of the signal light depending on which side it is? ie: The "S 2000" is to the left of the light on the right hand side of the car, and on the left hand side of the car the "S 2000" sits to the left of the marker. Is this right?

I think you may be looking at it wrong. The badge sits between the singnal and door jam on both sides

i have a friend that got a new fender after some accident and the stupid idiots at the stealership couldnt put the emblems right, so on the right side its the way its suppose to be and the left side is almost a good inch and a half more towards the door and i told him get that shit back in there but he was just fed up with all the problems he had with them, so he just left it lol but as long as it looks pretty darn close it should be good

I realize this is an old thread but was hoping for some info. I just bought '02 that has been debadged and I want to rebadge. These two docs are a huge help. I was wondering if you have something similar that would show where on the trunk I need to re-drill the holes to put the "H" back on? Also, I got the replacement "H" today and it is the one without a center. It has white caps on the two prongs that plug into the holes. Do those white caps function like nuts and need to be removed before inserting or are they to be left on then snap into the holes? I intend to use trial and error on a piece of scrap to determine the size of the hole needed but if anyone happens to know what size drill to use that would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for any info....

Chris
