This is what I've been doing with mine. Zip tied to the grill and wired right to the battery and just disconnect it after the event.

That moment when you see the topic title and know you can answer the question, then realize you posed the question 5+ years ago and figured it out lol.

Mine has been mounted on the core support and wired to the fuse box with a blade fuse adapter into...i forget which one.

Unless you are racing there is really no reason to run it in the front bumper area or anywhere it can be damaged if you are doing a permanent mount. I plan to buy one in the coming months and mount it somewhere it can't be damaged possibly in the driver side frame rail area.

Regarding King Tut's comment, if you're not racing, I'm not sure why you would need one - unless required for time trials. Unless someone is in the booth recording / registering the times, they are useless. Get an AIM Solo instead.

I want mine as close to the front of the car as possible to avoid being Ken Miles'd.

They are required for most time attack / NASA Time Trials, but unlike racing where the first transponder to the line wins, all that matters is the lap time so you can hang it off the back of your car if you want.

I created a HOW TO thread for installing one of the new style x2 transponders in the s2000. It can be found here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-ra...s2000-1166875/

Which is exactly what I did for my TT car. I've got a battery powered transponder with the bracket mounted to the license plate.
