Hankook RS3's vs. Federal FZ-201's Thoughts?
Hello. I've been running RS3's on the track for the whole past season, and was very pleased with them. However, now I've been shown a good price on the Federal FZ-201's and was wondering if anyone has tried these yet, and if so what thoughts do you have on them? I know these two tires aren't in the same class, and that perhaps the RS3 is a better wet weather tire for obvious reasons. I guess I just wanted to know if anyone's tried the FZ-201's, and if so where they significantly better? They're still a little fresh to the U.S., so I'm not sure if anyone has logged any time on them.
Disclaimer: If this is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it to wheels and tires subforum. I just thought since they were both for the track, that I'd place it here. Cheers!

try the new NEXAN tires i think they r called n fetes on tire rack. I have used RS3 apt but that compound is out dated. These nexan grip very good and are dirt cheap. Never tried federal. Never will.

Andy Hollis posted a link to the Hankook R-S4 on a Facebook group. That link has since been removed by Tire Rack. Maybe best to hold off until early next season just in case the new R-S4 gets here and is on par with the other extreme performance tires.

Or wait for the RS4s to launch in March. Link is back up on TR...I posted it over on the wheels and tire forum.

I probably will wait. I just confirmed the FZ-201's weigh 30 lbs a piece at a 255/40/17. While I recognize it's a semi slick with a tread wear of 40, and that comparing it to the RS3's are apples to oranges. Still, it's 4-5 pounds heavier than most reputable comp tires out there. Not sure if it makes up for it in grip. Just don't think I wanna pull the trigger on all that extra weight before first hearing more about the RS4's. Thanks for the feedback guys.
