Following the advice of a fellow track enthusiast, who is a body and paint guy by profession, I've order some POR-15 in semi-gloss black to cover the exposed metal behind the seat and in the trunk area. I'll see how far forward I can carry this covering into the passenger compartment.

Still wet here. When dry it's nowhere near this glossy.
I question my decision on going black because of heat but the original interior was black and I've been told black is faster.

Dry ice works great on sound deadening to get the bulk of it off then chisel large chunks out. Whatever doesn't come clean off I soaked with goo-gone and cleaned off with a razor blade, that includes that fibrous meterial on the gas tank hump. The transmission tunnel was the same way minus the dry ice, peel and push no dry ice needed, whatever is left simply wipes off with goo-gone.
