RC1s vs RE71s

Also when I used them in 90+ days they definitely didn't feel as confident inspiring as when the weather was cool. I seemed to get another day out of my winter set vs the summer set.

I talked with two guys running RE71s this past weekend and none of them said they were getting greasy. Temps were in the low 80s

RC1 makes you drive cleaner. You can get away with a lot of bad driving habits with NT01. RE71R is stupid crack when it's not overheated. I'm convinced it's like Hoosiers with grooves cut into them. LOL

Did my first track day on RE71-R last weekend (245-40-17 x4). Those tires performed great- even in the close to 100 degree weather. I did experience what people are saying about the greasy feeling after a couple laps- greasy wouldn't be the term I would use to describe it though. Grip levels started to fall off after 5+ laps (2.25 mile track), but were still very manageable and predictable.

Ordered RC1s today. Will post lap times and compare to my RS3s. I assume I can get another 2 seconds off, but that could be a pipe dream.

Both had mixed street/track time.
It seemed the RC1s never gave the confidence that I had with RA1s, or NT01s -- nor could the RC1s match the laptimes. The first two sessions, the RC1s were super greasy, but the grip picked up immensely afterwards.
Never felt as good as NT01s or RA1s though.
Best things about the RC1s are is how cheap they are and contingency with NASA.
Both cars are back on NT01s.

I just burned thru a second set of RC1s, one on a S2000 and another on a Noble.
Both had mixed street/track time.

Good info! Once I burn through these RS3s I will be putting NT01s on the 2nd set of wheels and then comparing lap times and driving experience. Still got a few more weekends in these Hankooks.
