Not that much difference. I weighed my STR40 trophy caliper at 6.9.4lb. So just a couple OZ looks like, however the calipers dont even look in the same league. The STR caliper has more bolts/stiffening designed in over the standard so my understanding is its a stiffer/higher capable/duty caliper wile they were still able to shave a little weight off rather then add it as one would expect. Its what your paying for. Its certainly a much more attractive forged and machined caliper then the standard St40 and the AP caliper both. The machining detail is absolutely beautiful, what you would expect to see on a top tier/high $$ application, almost making me not want yo ruin them by putting on my scabby car lol. 4lb is quite a savings though from AP, cant knock that at all. I was hoping to see the str caliper come in a bit more then 2oz over the standard, but I didn't know what to expect until I could weigh it.

Anyone know what the OEM caliper weighs? This is really what I care about for comparison.

Doe! Thanks

Yeah I weighed the caliper without the mount bracket which is why they came in at less weight. Great to find there is still some weight savings over stock

Robert will be doing that this year and as you know, fast car and driver. He's on StopTech's... Loves them too. Actually, all of those guys love StopTech's. The fit, they work, and don't think they've had any problems with them. Chris, who's won about everything he's competed in and worked with Robert up until he started with Tesla recently, still has dust boots... even before he added cooling. And that is as record lap times.

I get that these will be nice brakes, but tried and true is tried and true. And if tried and true is significantly less expensive, I am solely a bang for buck person in the quality range.

That's great to know. I was banking on them still holding up to heat, so I decided to go with them on my kit, since its still primarily a street driven car. I wanted the best on the track, but without giving up the mileage and longevity on the road.

Did the sarcasm not come through properly? Robert is on StopTechs, I am on StopTechs, Devin is on StopTechs.
