Default Track build: Suspension/Steering Help Setting up

Im planning my attack on the track build in my sig. The first system I want to go after will be Suspension. My plans with the car will be 450ish wheel so I know I will need a tall wing and good front aero but will talk about those at another time. I need help choosing a suspension system and wheels.

Suspension: Im looking for track specific and was thinking clubsports but than I considered the fact that I dont want to spend weeks dialing them in with all the fine adjustments. I will not be streeting the car so can anyone chime in with some good direction based on my needs. Which again are track only, advanced driver, high power. Maybe clubsports if there is a good cheat sheet on settings, Ohlins, or bilstein? Also looking to budget sub 3fk or suspension. Basically not going JRZ or others like that lol.

Wheels: Im thinking rpf's or somehthing like this thats easy to replace if needed. Dont want to go crazy on price. Looking for the best setup for the above mentioned car. Can roll or trim fenders. Im assuming a square setup but with that kind of power would more meat in the rear be good? Looking to budget about a grand on wheels (if new). As far as tires I will be considering the r7 to start.

Thanks for the help guys

If you are targeting C7Z laptimes you are going to be needing more tire than 1k budget for wheels will allow. You will either need to pony up around 1500-2000 or spend money on flares.

Urge Designs or Sake Bomb Garage very likely have your ideal 3k no frills suspension (custom DFV) on the shelf already so at least there is that.

The RPF-1s are fine, but I never really liked the 275/40r17 figment, way too much sidewall height. Maybe the R7 comes in a 275/35. But with lots of power and aero, you'll definitely need something wider than a 255, so flares at a minimum.

in really wide tires and super fast lap times, I'd probably get 18s and try to keep the OD as low as possible.

Thanks for the info. I will look into the URGE built setup. IM sure they can point me in the right direction.
As for wheel Im still a bit lost as to which way to go. I was thinking 17s but there isnt something that will only require rolling orI will have to go flare? I dont really care what they look like. Going for function and I want to do it right the first time. I need the rear of the car to be planted to so this important advice here and I appreciate it guys and I can increase my budget a but but I dont want pass 1500 if possible but If I dont have to do flares I would consider others. The 949 wheels would work price wise. That exact spec listed which I assume a square set up or larger rears and would flares be needed?

With both the Forgestar and 949's in 17x10 +50 offset you will be fine with just a roll, no need for flares or oversized fenders. These both would work best with a square setup, 255/40/17 in your choice of street rubber, or go for the 245 Hoosier A7's.

What tire compound and size would be required to contain 450ish hp and compete with a C7Z? I am assuming 275 R7 at least. That is generally the very first thing that has to be decided when trying to optimize the rest of the setup.

Let me be clear and say I want to compete on my home track which is thunderbolt. Other tracks like the glen, I do understand the Z is a hard car to hang with. I mean I drive both cars so I get it. Yes I was conseriding the R7

Does the Urge setup address the rear suspension travel issue with the Ohlins?

Since you have 450hp, I'm assuming a BBK is part of the package or will be in the future. In that case you should prolly stay away from the RPF1 as they have horrible brake clearance. Weds TC105N have great brake clearance, light, good cost, better offset for s2k in 17x9 (since it sounds like you wanna stay away from 17x10)
