When u have over 350 hp u really need 18s and a wider track width. U also should go with a bigger tire. Suspension wise ohlin or bilstien are not a dedicated track system. Some coils off the top of my head are custom spec BC, Custom spec Fa 510, hks, Eibach 3 way adjustable system for a race car.

Just find a solid track ready byld and copy that but actually bring it to the track. Here is my recommendation:

Downforce Front Fenders
Hacked Rear Fenders and Overfender of your choice
18x11 minimum width wheels
275 minimum width Hoosier R7s
Penskes
Huge Alcon brakes front and rear
71" minimum chassis mounted wing
7" Front Splitter and huge front canards
Password JDM Full Underbody
ESM Spherical Bushings
Quaife Diff

If you are looking to spend <$3k on a suspension, I would look into the SakeBomb's Custom Spec Ohlins DFVs. They seem to be a good bang for the price!

Enkei NT03+ have 18x11 +30. Reasonably priced and not too heavy: 21lbs... I believe these would fit with J's front & rear fender.. (most likely the setup Ill be runing).
They also have the GTC01 RR in 18x10.5 +35 @ 21.27lbs.. but much more expensive that NT03

Two companies that make some of the best dampers in the racing world are listed as sub par to brands I have never seen on true pro winning racecars?

The ohlins I'm referring to are the 2k outa box ones. Ohlins are the best yes but those pro winning ones your talking about range over 15k easy. I'm not a baller.

...and yet you say some cheap offshore dampers are what he should be looking at (BC and FA)???

A $2k set of Ohlins will be worlds better than either of those...

that doesn't mean the brands you listed are better, especially not the first 2, off the shelf HKS stuff isn't anything special at all. Ohlins still a better option, especially the custom valved and sprung offerings from Urge and SBG

Hks max 4 are much better than outa box ohlin imo. Iv had better times on the hks. An BC ZR series are 10x better than ohlin dfv. The ohlin out of box only come with 12 k springs. Iv had the ohlin for 2 months. And sold them. Didn't like thier softness.

a stiffer spring doesn't make a better damper
