It could have been the hardtop convertible 335i, in which they weigh 4000lbs compared to a 335i coupe that is 3600lbs vs a s2k that is 2800lbs.....
Btw we are talking stock vs stock guys, not a tuned 335i, of course the s2k doesn't stand a chance to one thats chipped. Does anybody care to do the power to weight ratio calculation?

However a mildly tuned S2k can keep up with a stock 335i.
I've ran one with intake and hfc/ single exhaust untuned and lost by half a car to 60mph.
After I had a tune I ran another 335i from 60 to 90 and was very slowly moving away.
When you come across a tuned 335i, you don't have a chance

Completely agree, I'm actually shopping for one right now so I have been doing research the past 3 months, deciding between a 335i or a SLK55 AMG. I also have a buddy that has one with a chip, catless DP, DCI, & meth and that thing PULLS. I did however beat him from a roll when he was stock in my NSX lol

I ran a stock 2008 335i coupe when I just had my K&N FIPK and had him from 20-100 by 1-2 cars with no problem!
Of course he did the ricer fly bye with his hazards after I let off.

I remember running a 335xi with four people in it. At a redlight and we both floored it. I was solo in a b18c ek hatch. That BMW loaded up didn't have a chance, but I'm sure a 135 or 335 coupe are fast as hell. Prob low 13's
