Thanks to all of your words of caution I was able to negotiate the price to a point where it should be a win win either way. If I cant fix the turbo for my budgeted amount then I'm selling the engine and parting out the Turbo to swap in a 04-05 AP2 engine. In fact I still may do this in the winter if I decide I dont like the turbo. Anyone have any complaints about the stock rims? I may sell the rims on the car and switch back to stock rims.

If it were me I would try hard to resist spending money on the car until after I'd driven it for a few months. Given the low price you might decide to spend money, or maybe not. You might even decide to sell it as is - you never know. But after a few months you will be better acquainted with the car, the newness will have worn off, and you'll have a better idea what you want to do. The issue that I would be weighing is at what point am I throwing good money after bad. That might depend on the condition of the other components of the car.
Personally I have no desire to boost an s2k so that part of this car would be a negative to me so I would be sorting out how to return it to NA with a strong stock engine and how to do that without getting myself too far upside down on the money I have invested. But that is a basic issue you have to come to grips with - do you want an NA s2k? Or do you want a boosted s2k?

I prefer the 16" stock rims. I love how tossable the car is. Give it a bit of power and you can easily kick out the tail. It adds to the fun and rawness of the AP1.

I'm not sure whether or not I want to keep the car boosted. I know I can't leave it as is, so either the shop will tell me it's cheap enough to repair or I start the part out process early and go back to stock.

I threw the stock rims on it today and have to say I like both rims and they both ride well. I like the comment about wheel choices as I need to price out the difference of AP1 16s and the enkie rfp1s.
