Age or Mileage?

Age or Mileage?
What is more important when making a decision about which car to buy? Mileage or age assuming the cars are close in overall condition? My choices are a 2003 with 32,000 miles for $22,000 or a 2007 with 70,000 miles for $18,000.

I would take the ap1 because I like ap1s.
I think you need to make a decision whether you want an ap1 v ap2.
After you make that decision the rest will become clear.
Personally I don't think age matter one wit. Its about mileage and overall condition, not age.
The price for that 03 sounds high to me, even with the low miles. For comparison I bought an 02 with an oem hard top and 8.5K miles for 21K this past summer. The top alone is worth at least $2.5K . And I think I probably over paid.

Drive both if you are able to. I have an 06 and its the only one I've ever driven so I can't comment on the AP1 drive. I'd say the 07 is a better deal. That's still low mileage if its well taken care of. The 02 would have to be a couple thousand cheaper at least to be an equal deal.

I would agree that you should figure out which car best suits what you are looking for in terms of AP1 or AP2, then go from there. There are a multitude of differences between a 2003 and 2007 S2000 although the 2003 is believed to be the best year for AP1. Make a list and check it twice!
Good luck in your search.

I've put 87K miles on an AP1 and tons of track time with it and now 90K miles on an AP2 with considerably less track time (mid-70s will slow you down) and I'd buy the 07 in a heartbeat. The 03, even at 32K miles is grossly overpriced. If it were an 00, the first year of the S2000, with that mileage the price of the 03 would be a little bit closer, although not equal to, reality.

I think cars get worse with age than mileage, but that all depends on how the owner maintained the vehicle. Generally speaking a car that is used regularly wears a bit better than one that sits unused. Pick the year that you like at the price you want to pay, I think ap1 vs ap2 is a big factor so choose what you prefer best. Good luck.

I have '03 and love it,but the one you reference seems mighty high for a 14 YO car.Just my O.
Mileage can be deceptive. One of my Vette pals only drives his 5 miles a week.
2 miles to the strip,4 passes and 2 miles home.
Just sayin'
