Default TCT Changed then.. :(

Hi everyone!

I changed my TCT because of the rattle. Once done, it was perfect, but then.. I was going around 120mph and I heard a weird muffled noise that continually got louder and louder. At first I thought metal was moving around then it started sounding like something metal slapping metal hard. Sound is located at the front of the engine(used a stethoscope). The car starts fine and can even drive.

Could this be caused by bad guides or something even worse..?

It sounds like broken guide. The tct could have caused it if it was not installed properly. If it was applying too much pressure. Like was already asked, which one did you use, hoe did you install?

I used oem and installed the way shown on youtube. I pulled the pin put and it snapped into place. Could the force from the spring loaded piston snap the guide?

thanks for the quick reply guys, means a lot.

Oil level is good, and the car is at the shop right now so no video right now.

Was this a brand new oem TCT?

Did you install it, tighten the bolts, THEN pull the pin?

The force of the TCT piston popping into place cannot harm the guide or the engine in any way.

Perhaps you can link us to this YouTube video as well.

Did you accidentally pull the pin out before installing it, and then have to put it back in so you could install?

You pulled the pin through the access hole?

I pulled the pin after I got everything in place through that access hole in the engine. It was quiet for a while. I also wasn't able to hit vtec since every time I did the clutch would slip, so I wasn't ever really pushing the car past its limits.

The TCT was brand new and oem.

the video was some big youtuber. I'll try to see if I can find it again.
