I see it at the moment, Patty. I could see the others yesterday, but now they are gone.

and I'm good with that.
Talking with my son last night, his girlfriend's mother has started in on her about when are you getting married and having kids...
She's halfway through a PHD and has no interest. yet.

I've never understood parents who push/ask those questions. The MYOB rule really applies here.

Lainey, if my wife would read this, she would agree with you 1000%.

Questions like that REALLY hit hard for her but they don't always come from parents......

People ask sometimes not realizing that there may be reasons people don't plan to or can't procreate. I don't think they mean any harm, just don't realize how insensitive they can be with the questions.

My sister's mother in law once told her she was saving a rocking chair for her (insert :for when you have a baby). My sister quickly told her to save it for her brother in law's wife.

A PhD is why my son hasn't started a family. Not his but his wife's. They both got them at UC Santa Barbara in 2014 and got married a year later. His wife thinks being a mom is a step down after getting her PhD. They are planning on a kid or two but we'll see.

^ You don't need a degree to have a kid but the good ones are a blessing.

I'm a dog lover, but now cats have prevailed. I still love my children and Grand children much better though. None-the-less here's a pic of our only pet, Wesley. He's a thirteen year old 22 lb Lavender Point Siamese who is still very lively and agile... that is, when he's not sleeping.
