US television screws up every successful concept from Britain from cars to food shows. British shows are so much more enjoyable and easy to watch- much more genuine. No fake reality drama.

Actually, I don't think that one can be blamed on Discovery. I've heard that the relationship between Hyneman and Savage was always somewhat strained and that it was the love both felt for the show that kept them working together for 14 years. Maybe that's just the Internet version of tabloid talk. But I suspect 14 years with either of these strong personalities would have been just about enough. I will miss the show, though.
