Used one of these just now for a project for the wife. Worked like a charm.

Many are giving Sears one or two years before bankruptcy. Maybe this year. It is gone.

The marketplace is natural selection.

I agree. They don't compete on price, products, or service.

Back in the day, I loved Sears catalog. Everything from clothing for my son, to even selecting a refrigerator out of the catalog. We bought other major appliances from them along the way too. The 'Kenmore" washer and dryer that Rick had when I met him lasted 25 and 29 years respectively. I can tell you the replacements didn't last that long, or needed repairs not that long after purchasing.

I feel bad for any company that has reached the point that Sears and K mart have. I was still a K-Mart shopper for the quick trip for something for the house. The K Mart in the town over is closing. I still avoid Wal Mart. Our last lawnmower was purchased at Sears Hardware, they are now closed.

I have to admit to buying as much as we can from catalogs and Amazon, so I know we are contributing to the demise of the brick and mortar stores. Shopping really is the last thing we want to spend our time doing.

State budgets continue to lose tax revenue on sales due to internet net sales. Colorado supplements its budget with mj sales taxes.

Taxation: One of the reasons I restrict my shopping with Amazon. The Colorado legislators have passed laws that have selectively targeted Amazon; they must collect state taxes even though they have no business sites or activities within our state.

Furthermore...

About Colorado’s Taxation: Several years ago the Colorado’s residence passed a Taxpayer Bill of Rights or TABOR as a state constitutional measure that limits the annual growth in state revenues or spending to the sum of the inflation rate and the percentage change in the state's population. The TABOR Law has become a obstacle to our state representatives, but now instead of increasing taxes Colorado’s legislation has a very ingenious way of collecting revenues via out of state taxation, fees, state promoted bonds, and emergency services, which circumvent TABOR’s taxation restrictions.

TABOR: a constitutional measure which I supported, but now I feel as though it’s being thoroughly routed.

I needed a bearing puller for my deck mower which has a bad spindle.
So I wandered through sears tool section tonight.
What a ghost town. where racks of tools used to live is almost nothing.
