Opinions please: APR GT-250 vs GTC-300
Hello everyone. Last off seasons track mods were dedicated to wheels, tires, suspension, brakes, etc. This winter I want to focus on aero for next season. My car is on the track approx. 90% of the time it's driven with various groups HPDE's and such. Anyway, I've already decided I'm getting an AP2 bumper with CR lip, and an APR splitter. However, the part I'm stuck on is which wing to get, the GT-250 or the GTC-300. I have and plan to keep running NA. I've been told by some to run a GT-250 if I'm planning to keep NA, and that a GTC-300 will cause too much drag. I've got others telling me to get the GTC-300 now and it'll be great for the track. Not sure which side to listen to. I like the looks of the 300 more, but feel maybe the 250 is the better fit for a NA S2k. Would just like to here the thoughts of those out there that have ran them.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Seems, like more guys around here run the GT-250 including myself on an NA car. I like it very much. The GTC-300 definitely has more drag. I know King_Tut runs the GT-250 on a high HP Turbo car. I don't think the 250 will ever hold you back within reason. You can alway put some larger endplates on it if you need some additional downforce such as the ones made by Singular Motorsports. I'd go with the GT-250 for versatility, between now and potential FI.

I'n NA and rock a 67" GT-250, and it is a sweet piece for sure. At Watkins Glen I found that I only lost 1-2 mph on the back straight compared to when I didn't have areo on. I found in the AP1 if you're in 3rd gear doing track speed its already working. A word of caution though, it generates a LOT of downforce. That APR splitter will not match well with this wing, and it will likely understeer. I made an alumalite splitter with 5 inch forward and side protrusion and it still understeers. I will be adding canards and venting the hood in hopes to balance the front/rear downforce.

Thanks for your input guys. When you order directly from APR (which I'll be doing) they will make both the wings and the front splitters to your recommendation. Even the GT-250 they will cut to your desired length. Could even be say 65", and I'm told this is at no additional cost. So perhaps I should tell them to go at least 3" out front. Perhaps the CR lip will help act as a canard of sorts. :shrugs:

Not to rain on your parade, the but the APR front splitter blades are pretty thin and not very rigid. If your car spends 90% of it's time on track, and if you plan on making any real downforce on the front, I would recommend either fabricating one yourself, or having a more rigid design fabricated to your specs. PCI makes a really nice splitter blade that is competition proven, and capable of supporting some serious downforce.

I agree on the splitter as well. The APR peice is very nice but thin and not as rigid. Look in the WASP splitter. I run one with the APR front bumper and its amazing

Ray(S-factor) makes custom 2 piece splitters that can be beat up.
Look him up on insta. I just custom ordered my splitter from him last month.

Not sure if I agree with the apr splitter being thin. I bought one recently and it's plenty sturdy. They may have revamped it recently. But I will be modifying it to fit within the rules. Because it doesn't follow the shape of the bumper perfectly and is not wide enough to cover the entire bumper.
