10/12-13 is, I think, the TWS weekend. I know a bunch of people are going to that.

Later is better... I'd take the 5/6th.

A bunch of the North Texas folks have recently been talking about coming down either 10/12-13 or 10/19-20, though I don't think they had in mind to make it an overnight out in the sticks. I'd love to arrange one long day out in the hills for them and the other day doing local stuff, and I had started looking into B&B's here in Austin for them

What do you guys think?

I think you could talk some North TX folks into an overnight in the sticks... Just let us know when.

10/5 is the only choice where there won't be a Michigan football game. =)

But there's a UT football game against my alma mater that weekend IN Austin. I'm going to my game. Are you heading up to Ann Arbor?

I hope he's not going to pass up this event to watch TV...as much as I'll be rooting for UT, their games aren't going to keep me from enjoying the great fall weather.

The "sticks"? The Dallas folks will have to spend $$ for a night somewhere... and anything south of their downtown is the sticks to them, so it might as well be in the middle of this drive. Show 'em what Texas really is (something they won't learn about at the Galleria). :-)

I'd vote for two nights... this is just too good to pass up. And the later in the fall the better... cooler is much better.

State parks are a really great idea... I wouldn't mind a hike somewhere along the way.
