It was a fun-filled automotive weekend driving around the parking lot at Metrozoo. It was my pleasure to meet the enthusiastic 350Z owners and great to see my S2000 buddies again. Also, it was great having so many competitors out there sharing the fun. It was the largest B-stock field that I can remember seeing at one of these events, 5 drivers in the morning and 9 drivers in the afternoon. In addition to the drivers of Zs and Ss, there was a Porsche 911 driver and 3 Boxster drivers in attendance. The morning and afternoon sessions counted as 2 different events with 2 runs in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. S2000 drivers took 1st and 2nd in both . I think the new Z car is going to be a contender in B-stock, so keep coming to the events and we'll have some great competition next year.
I had the opportunity to attend the Sunday event {speedtrial}, I also had the opportunity to be a passenger in {KeithD & Mav} car, what a rush. Thank you guys, it was lots of fun. We had a total of 4 S2000 participating in the event, and 2 spectators {I was one of them, and the other was a gentleman i sold 2003 Red/Blk S2000}. Also, Armando {NSX} show up. Armando, hopefully next event when you get the new TOY install, you will be out there killing people. Great event.
Team s2ki did very well on Sunday also. CoralDoc had an excellent run of 1'33" and I believed he placed 2nd in his class. Keith placed first in our class and I took 4th.
Thanks to everyone that came out. And congrats to Ole, Joshua and Keith for placing in the top of their respective classes.
Congrats Josh!! Hey, you know you and Ole might run a lot closer if you make him run legal wheels.
I hope I didn't piss Ole off too much by pointing that out to him...but I fugured it was nicer to go that way rather than having his runs DSQ'ed if he had beaten me by 0.1sec.
The official results were posted today on the ER website and evidently I finished third. The person who won my class (SN1) was driving a Z06 and bested me by 2 seconds.
Regardless of losing the battle, I won the war and finished first in my class for the year!
