Rear Lower Brace
Simple question, rear (lower) brace - worth it or not? Specifically I'm looking at the ones Tegiwa list
Some comments suggest they make the back end more "communicative", others say they do diddly squat.
Would a front lower brace required too to balance it out?

I'm not sure I could tell any difference with mine, others will tell you that they absolutely do make a difference. I based my decision to get one on the basis that they don't cost much (I got one 2nd hand), so "why not?"

I'll put the other case then........
The braces were the first mods I did. The rear definitely reduces flex and the front makes a noticable difference to steering feel.
Well worth the time and money, but no need to go crazy for the big brand names - my rear brace is a piece of aluminium bar that a mate knocked up at work for me and the front one is a cheap ebay copy.

I was thinking of making one myself but then I saw the underneath of an S in the Hel thread, the x-bone chassis looks mighty enough as it is or am I missing something?

Yay!
There's a factory fitted one, so if the X-bone chassis is strong enough, why did Honda feel the need for extra bracing? But obviously it'll only work if the new one is stiffer than the old; no point putting any old bit of tat on there.

As you get closer to the centre of the x bone, the rigidity will be massive, however, the closer you get to the ends of the bone, there will be some flex. I don't think this flex would be great enough to be noticed by an ordinary joe.
Honda didn't mess much up when it came to designing this car and I can't imagine torsional rigidity would be one of those things (especially as the went down the x-bone route) so in this case, I'd leave what is there, there.
... They wouldn't put a crap piece of u shaped metal there if that wasn't what they thought was needed, I would have thought?
