Blank Canvas

More than a few S2000 owners have fallen in love with tracking their beloved rides. And for good reason - Honda's roadster makes a fantastic track toy. But instead of chopping up your pristine ride, why not pick up the perfect blank canvas that is this rolling AP1 shell up for grabs in the S2Ki Marketplace?

Cheap and Ready

With a clean title in hand, S2Ki member cybotron is asking a mere $2,000 for this AP1. It certainly has its fair share of bumps and bruises, of course, but nothing that would dissuade us from using it as the basis for a race car build.

Full Disclosure

The 156k-mile roller does have front end damage listed on its CarFax. But the seller claims that it drives straight and true and that the repairs were performed perfectly.

Some Rust

The body panels are all straight and true, but there are a few rust spots here and there. But that's all the more reason to turn this thing into a race car and not a show car, right?

Recouping Your Investment

The interior appears to be all there, even though it's dirty and there's a tear in the driver's seat. But if you're building a racer, that just means you could recoup some of your investment selling that stuff when you strip it bare.

Brake Upgrades

The good news is, somebody's already installed a decent brake upgrade. That includes PowerStop pads, stainless steel lines, drilled and slotted rotors, and new calipers.

Aftermarket Goodies

The AP1 has a few other aftermarket goodies in place, including an Invidia Q300 catback exhaust, as well as a Koyo radiator and hood struts. The tires are Kumho Ecsta 4X II Ultra High Peformance all-seasons.

Few Pieces

Despite the lack of drivetrain, the harness, driveshaft, and battery are still in place. Even though the latter is most likely dead at this point, according to the seller.

Solid Project

Overall, this AP1 looks like a solid project even if you just want something to tinker on and don't plan on turning it into a full-blown racer.

Track Toy

But of course, that's not what we would do. We'd land ourselves a built motor, strip it, and hit the track. Because that's what an S2000 does best, right?
