Beautifully Built AP2 Track Car the Result of a Careful Plan
The owner of this gorgeous AP2 used his experience and careful planning to build one of the sweetest S2000s you'll ever see.
Experience Pays Off
The owner of this wicked S2000, Marvin Ma, isn't new to the game, having owned several cars before this one. That experience, along with a carefully detailed plan, was key in producing one of the nicer track builds we've seen in some time. And that makes it well worth highlighting after the car was featured over at Super Street some time ago.

Feelings of Regret
Ma acquired his first S2000 back in 2008, in fact, but after a few mods, it wound up spinning some bearings. Ma took it as a sign to move on, and sold the car only to replace it with a 5th gen Civic build. Regardless, he always regretted getting rid of his roadster and wound up securing this '05 AP2 model back in 2016.

Curated Parts
Ma's goal from the outset was to build something clean and functional with quality parts. That journey began with an ASM front bumper and carbon fiber lip, rear over-fenders,a set of 17x9-inch +22 CE28N with Bridgestone RE71R tires, HKS Hipermax SP coilovers, Spoon calipers, and StopTech rotors.

Aero Bits
Ma then worked on adding some aero bits to his AP2, starting with a Wasp carbon composite chassis-mount front splitter and a J's Racing wing that's mounted on iparkharder 245mm titanium wing stands. A Tamon spoiler sits below that larger wing, and above a set of Car Shop Glow V1 LED taillights. Beneath the rear bumper, you'll find a Spoon rear diffuser

Visual Upgrades
The interior received a big visual punch in the form of a set of Jersey Red Recaro Pole Position bucket seats. Other upgrades inside this AP2's cabin include a Spoon steering wheel, custom arm rest cover and shift boot, and a Cusco 7-point roll cage to keep the Ma and his passenger safe out on the track.

Dressed to Impress
Underneath the vented carbon fiber hood lies a neatly dressed engine bay with parts including an ASM cooling panel, Koyorad radiator, a carbon fiber Mugen intake kit, Origin Fabrications pie-cut titanium intake tubing, a Renegade catch can and overflow tank combo, and a custom battery and ABS unit.

Future Plans
Ma's latest build wasn't quite finished yet, however, as he had big plans for the future. Those included a new set of wheels, Project MU brakes, and a laundry list of mods to join what's already been done to this car. But in the world of the automotive enthusiast, is any project really ever 100% complete?
