Brand New '05 S2000 Owner Wastes No Time Enjoying It

Most would assume any 10k-mile Honda S2000 would be destined for long-term storage, but not for one Sebring Silver beauty.

Doing It Right

Like the many nice Honda S2000s that cross the virtual block at Bring a Trailer each month, this 10k-mile '05 hammered for a reasonable price when it sold back in April. Given the car's mileage, it's also easy to assume that perhaps the new owner was going to store it away in a garage, never driving it in the hopes that they could sell it for a profit down the road. But as we pleasantly found out in this follow-up, that's not the case at all.

Pleasant Experience

The new owner of this particular car was more than happy to share his experiences with it so far, which seem rather adventurous. "The ownership experience has been great so far!" he said. "Actually, it was quite a journey to get the car from the previous owner and get it to my house." That journey involved quite a nice road trip as well.

Taking the Scenic Route

"We arranged everything and I flew into the Seattle area. After meeting with Nate and picking the car up, I made a 2 day, a 900-mile amazing trip to the SF Bay Area. Of course, I used the opportunity to see urban Seattle as well. I took the scenic routes too, to enjoy the amazing scenery and the feel of the recently purchased S2000. The Sequoia trees were a sight to behold."

Breaking It In

That's one heck of a way to break in your new ride. But it wasn't just the scenery that left an immediate impression on the new owner. "The Condition of the car is amazing and I really had a very satisfying buying experience with BaT. The previous owner definitely did their best to describe the car in the ad. None of my friends believe that this is a 15-year old vehicle; the timeless design of the S2000 certainly helps."

Maybe Next Year

We can certainly relate to that sentiment. Regardless, the car's new owner did have one regret. "Sadly, I missed the event at Laguna Seca, but I’m sure I will have another opportunity to meet with the other BaT Alumni!" Well, as they say, there's always next year.

Curious Condition

Hopefully, this long road trip won't be the last the new owner takes in his prized possession. This AP2 has an interesting history, but it's curious that it has so few miles on the clock. Reportedly, the seller purchased it from a friend in the summer of 2018, but there's no previous ownership history provided.

Sitting Around

Given the low miles, this car had to have sat for quite some time over the years. The seller did manage to rack up 500 miles on it, but that's still not much for nearly a year's time. But he did perform a bunch of routine maintenance to ensure that everything was up to date.

Few Blemishes

That included the typical stuff like changing the oil, coolant, clutch, transmission, and differential fluids. The tires are still in good shape with 2015 date codes, so that's a plus. And the car came with a clean Carfax and essentially just one blemish on the front bumper.

Pac West

Otherwise, this gem of an S2000 remains in great shape and is pretty much completely original, including the radio, which is something that typically gets changed out. It's also lived its entire life in the Pacific Northwest, in both Washington and Oregon.

Honoring Wishes

We get why people store cars like this away and never drive them, even if we personally couldn't do it. But at the same time, we love to hear stories like this one. After all, Honda built the S2000 for people to drive and enjoy. So why not carry out their wishes and forget about making a little cash down the road?
