Piece of the Pie

One of the true signs of a car's greatness is whether or not it stands up to the test of time. And so far, the S2000 most certainly has. Today, Honda's roadster is arguably more popular than ever, and quickly becoming a hot collector's item. Thus, this low-mile gem of an AP1 we spotted over at Autohunter seems like a great way to snag a piece of that growing pie.

Looking Fine

With just over 19k miles on the clock, this 2000 model year S2000 definitely checks the box as a low-mile example. And it looks the part as well, with beautiful New Formula Red paint that looks essentially flawless in the pics provided. The original owner reportedly kept the car for nine of the years that have passed since, and obviously took rather good care of it during that time.

Bone Stock

One of the most appealing things about this particular S2000, of course, is the fact that it's 100% stock and completely unmodified. While that isn't particularly rare these days, it is slowly getting harder and harder to find as the S2000 platform makes such a great base for all kinds of custom builds and aftermarket upgrades.

Wear Free

Even more impressive, the car has not had any body or paintwork done to it, and the original top is in great shape with no yellowing in the rear window. The engine bay is equally tidy, as is the attractive black interior that looks just about factory fresh in every conceivable way.

Driven Sparingly

Even the factory radio is in place, which isn't something you see every day. In the meantime, this AP1 hasn't been driven a lot over the new owner's tenure either, as they've only added around 1,000 miles across six years.

Fully Documented

As you might imagine by now, this particular AP1 also comes complete with immaculate service records and all of the original books and manuals. Even the undercarriage looks remarkably clean, almost like the car has never once been driven in the rain.

Solid Value

Unsurprisingly, the car sold at auction for $23,500, which actually seems like a great deal considering its immaculate condition. But that just proves that there are still deals to be found out there on the market, even with some cars selling for crazy prices these days.
