Rare Find

These days, two things that rarely go together are Honda's S2000 and the word "bargain." Heck, with prices soaring, it's nearly impossible to find a solid project car out there in the world at even a reasonable price. But we believe we've found exactly that right here in the S2Ki Marketplace

Project Car

Currently, forum member JayWest is asking a mere $5,700 for his AP1. It's obviously not in stellar shape, but it does reportedly run and drive very well. And that alone could make it a great project car.

Stock Form

The car is also completely stock, save for an aftermarket radio and top. And whether you're looking to modify or restore it, that's obviously great news.

Few Issues

There are a few issues worth pointing out, of course. The Silverstone paint clearly needs to be redone, and the aforementioned soft top doesn't fit very well.

Running Fine

The car also has over 200k miles on the clock, and the check engine light is on for the knock sensor. But the seller claims he recently took the car on a 3-hour road trip with no issues.

Changing Plans

So why is he selling it in the first place? Well, apparently, he bought it with the intentions of making it a street-able track car, but then came across an AP2 that he preferred.

Oh, the Possibilities

Thus, the possibilities here are endless. You could clean it up and have a slightly scarred daily driver. Or maybe even repaint or wrap it and sort out the CEL and soft top problems.

Cheap Fix

Which is likely what we'd do. You could probably fix what ails this car and give it some fresh duds and still be in it for less than $10k.

Track Toy

Or, you could gut it and turn it into a full-on track toy. With a low starting price and a bunch of worn cosmetics, we certainly wouldn't blame you there.
