Double Duty

The beauty of the S2000 platform is that it can be many things to many people. Want a reliable and fun daily? A weekend track toy? Or perhaps even a little of both? This is your car. Those seeking more power have a variety of paths they can take as well. For S2Ki member xBoostx, his fifth S2000 is going the big-inch route with an F25C as he aims to do double duty with it on the street and track.

First Timer

Interestingly enough, the OP admits that he never really modded any of his four previous cars. But he's clearly making up for lost time with this one. But it makes sense, given the fact that the car has 228k miles on the clock. Thus, the plan from the start is to restore the car inside and out, as well as give it a brand new 2.5-liter stroker.

Inside Out

He begins this long and arduous process on the inside. "The interior was pretty much OEM with a radio swap," xBoostx said. "I did a deep cleaning and upgraded a bunch of parts. Changed the driver's seat, did an LED cluster upgrade, AP2 center console, leather center section, premium floor mats, SOS cluster pod, Modifry phone mount and organizer, Innovate 4-in-1 gauge, Renegade shifter, weighted billet knob, Sparco steering wheel, and a quick release."

Satisfying Job

Needless to say, the result of all that work was a pretty dramatic improvement. And it's clear that the OP was pleased with it, even though he's not quite finished yet. "I'm beyond satisfied with the outcome of the interior. All that's left for me to do is install AP2 door cards and change the radio. I don't like how the current one looks and functions. I also have a BYS driver side seat rail on the way to lower me down a bit."

Big Plans

In the meantime, he reveals his drivetrain upgrade plans. " I'm going with a K24 Crank with 89.5 pistons. It's going to be a long rod stroker setup. The head, I haven't decided what valvetrain yet. But I'm quite sure I will use BC STG 2 cams. High compression fuel with E85." In the meantime, he worked on installing some new MCS coilovers, Buddy Club RCA ball joints, and EVS toe arms.

Moving Along

While xBoostx was elbow deep into the suspension, more parts kept coming in. Including a Haltech Pro plugin, HKS muffler, BC stage 2 cams, and a 68mm throttle body. He also snagged an AP1 front bumper and lip and had them painted. Soon, the suspension was finished and the original engine was out.

Future Progress

At this point, xBoostx is just waiting on his shiny new engine to show up so he can install it. So far, this awesome project is moving along pretty fast. So be sure and head over here to keep up with future progress!
