Blink and You’ll Miss It

Every year at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show you’ll find the Honda Booth tucked away in a corner of the Las Vegas Showroom with a plethora of goodies.  This year, attendees making the rounds were likely to stumble onto the 2019 NSX GT3 Evo sitting out on the floor. The low profile carbon bodied race car is ready to roll right out the door with its blue-trimmed yellow rally stripes and its angry large wing.

Sexy Curves

The NSX GT3 Evo has had, like most beautiful creations at SEMA,  some work done to it.  Bodywork revisions for the 2019 car include a new front splitter, diffuser and a change to the rear bumper.  These enhancements have been made to reduce drag and improve speed and performance on the track.

Under the Hood

The NSX GT3 Evo rolls off the assembly line with a 3.5-liter, twin-turbo V6 with a base horsepower rating of 500hp.  This is before any additional upgrades or specific race tuning has been done to the car.  The 2019 has new turbochargers to boost control, throttle response and fuel economy.

Race Performance

The NSX GT3 Evo is a proven winner on the race track having won the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD division and the Pirelli World Challenge.  An NSX GT3 Evo was also a podium finisher at the Blancpain GT Series Asia and it's easy to see why.  The vehicle starts at a base retail price of $525,000 so good luck to whichever one of you wins the lotto and buys one. All the rest of us can do is hope Honda lowers the price of the current NSX and takes out some of that tech that we don't care about.
