Going Through Phases

Many of us build our personal idea of a dream car over time, slowly changing the things we don't like and adding parts here and there. But for some, those builds eventually grow a bit stale. That was certainly the case with longtime S2000 owner Jackie Law. His car has undergone extensive changes over his 12 years of ownership, including this particular phase documented over at Ill.Motion

Longtime Evolution

The evolution of Law's ride has been well documented all over in the internet in recent years. Mostly because he just keeps coming back and hitting us with something different yet impressive. But with each iteration, it just keeps getting harder and harder to figure out where to go next.

Make Space

This time around, those changes were quite drastic with a complete change of bodywork and paint. The first order of business was installing a new set of front fenders and pulling the rear fenders to make room for a massive set of rolling stock.

Drastic Change

Since the front fenders were new, Law decided to go ahead and repaint the entire car in a fresh new color. This time around, the chosen hue was Moonrock Metallic, a pretty drastic change from the original Sebring Silver color.

Eye Catchers

The next step was to choose the right set of wheels for this widened S2000. And Law ultimately settled on a set of 18×9.5 +22 Volk TE37s painted a quite visible shade of Bright Yellow Pearl. Love it or hate it, you can't deny that these wheels are certainly eye-catching.

Few Additions

Outside of those major changes, Law didn't mess with his existing setup too much. He did add a new set of T1R B-Max coilovers, along with an AP2 rear bumper and Voltex Carbon rear diffuser. But with such drastic updates to the exterior, not much else was needed.

Long List

After all, the mod list on this S2000 already reads like a short novel. On the outside, it sports an ASM FRP front bumper and lip, Spoon prototype race hood, Js carbon GT wing, Craft squire carbon mirrors, Seibon carbon trunk, and AP2 headlights and taillights, for starters.

Js and Spoon Bits

Under the hood, you'll find things like a Js Racing intake, header, exhaust, N1ECU, throttle body, engine torque damping, heat shield, oil cap, and magnetic diff bolt. There's also a host of Spoon bits including the radiator hose, fan switch, radiator stay, and magnetic engine/tranny bolts.

Suspension Upgrades

The there's the suspension. Js supplied the front and rear strut bars, as well as the front roll center adjuster. Spoon chipped in with the rear roll center adjuster, front X-brace, and rear lower control arm. And Cusco supplied the 6-point roll cage and chassis reinforcement bar.

Showing Commitment

Of course, Law won't ever be truly satisfied with his S2000, as it's already changed a few times over. But as always, we look forward to seeing just what he has planned moving forward. If nothing else, you have to admire his commitment to a car he's owned for a very long time!
