Laguna Blue AP2 Makes for One Great Photo Album
This S2000 build is a cool story, but it's also rather nice to look at.

Even if you're not in the mood to read a few thousand words or sift through endless pages of content, the S2Ki Forums is also a pretty great place to find some amazing photos of some amazing cars. Case in point - jaor.s2k's gorgeous 2006 Laguna Blue Pearl AP2 that he's documented the build process on in this thread.

OEM++
When the OP first picked up his new ride, it was fitted with all sorts of aftermarket parts. But he wanted to simplify it a bit and make it more of an OEM++ build, a car that could be used on both the street and track. That process began with replacing the original, somewhat hardcore JRZ RS Pro setup with Eibach springs with Ohlins DFV coils with Swift springs.

Body Mods
Next, the OP replaced the OEM Trackspec vented hood with a used NFR hood and a Legalo front. He also ditched the giant wing before taking it out to the track for the first time at a Streets of Willow event. Luckily, the suspension setup felt good right off the bat, though it obviously needed a bit of dialing in.

One Mistake
Soon, the entire car received a respray after the antenna and hood washers were shaved. The OP also ditched the car's hardcore brake setup, though that wasn't the best idea, as now the car was under-braked given its setup. Regardless, the next addition is a good one - a set of Advan RZII wheels measuring in at 17x10+50.

Continuous Improvements
After picking up a Recaro Pole Position seat, the OP's buddy gave the S2000 a full detail job including steaming the engine bay. An Exceed trunk spoiler and a set of white wheels went on, though the latter were only for the street, mounted with a set of Hankook RS4 255/40 rubber. Soon, the OP installed a new set of speakers and removed the harsh Hasport engine mounts in favor of some new ones from Spoon.

Dyno Day
After yet another track day, the OP continued to tweak his ride by adding an '04 ASM rear bumper before going in for some power mods that included a Mugen-style intake, Hondata Flashpro, OEM headers, a T1R 70mm resonated test pipe, and a Greddy SE 70mm dual exhaust. The result of that work was 228 horsepower and 159 pound-feet of torque. To celebrate, he also picked up a set of gorgeous Advan RSII 17x10 +50 wheels.

Ongoing Story
Since then, the car has received new brakes, a Toda TCT, and Eibach front and rear sway bars. Otherwise, the OP has been hitting the track frequently and pushing to get better. So far, we're loving what he's done with the car, so be sure and follow along with his future ventures by heading over here!
