Tow Rig

While many of us own S2000s that we take to the track on a regular basis, few also tow those vehicles there. But if we were to own a tow rig, we'd want it to be something like a Honda Odyssey, decked out to match our race car, of course. That's the idea behind these cool renderings from Abimelec Design, which found the inspiration for them from a real-life source.

Finding Inspiration

Our artist happened to stumble across an old forum post from someone that used his Odyssey to tow a Toyota AE86 to the track, which gave him the idea to sub out that car for another Honda. Namely, an Amuse S2000 GT-1 Turbo. And what a gorgeous duo it turns out to be.

Close Shave

What's particularly cool about this idea is that it's also technically possible. Abimelec reckons that the S2000 and its trailer would weigh in at around 3,600 pounds, which is also what the Odyssey is rated to tow. It's a close shave, but we're sure someone could figure out a way to make it work.

Matching Pair

And since you're going to all of this trouble to make a cool tow rig, you might as well make it match your race car, right? In this case, that means the same darker blue paint color and the same gold wheels, though we think the trailer should also be rolling on the same wheels, too.

Heavy Mods

The van has also obviously been lowered, but that's pretty much it for modifications to the family hauler. The S2000, on the other hand, looks show-ready thanks to the aforementioned body kit, which was inspired by the Amuse S2000 GT-1 Turbo from Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

Decked Out

The widebody roadster also features a new hood, side mirrors, the aforementioned gold wheels, a giant rear wing, and a host of carbon fiber parts including the rear canards and rear diffuser, to name a few.

Heavenly Match

Put them together, and this Honda duo makes for one of the coolest pairings we've seen in some time. While a lot of folks may hate on the Odyssey for the simple fact that it's a mini-van, we've seen in the past that they can be made cool as well. Pair one up with a sweet S2000, and you've got a match made in heaven.
