Landslide Winner

As much as we love the S2000, it's hard to deny the appeal of Acura's legendary NSX. And we aren't the only ones who feel this way, obviously. In fact, Super Street found themselves smitten with this beauty after conducting the 2019 ENEOS x Super Street SEMA vehicle search, despite a veritable landslide of entries. But diving into this amazing ride, it's pretty easy to see why it won over so many hearts.

Getting the Itch

SS narrowed down those many entries into five finalists, then let the fans vote for their favorite. In the end, it was this NA2 NXS owned by Christopher Montano that took home the prestigious crown. It's also just one of many lust-worthy rides he's owned over the years, a group that includes a 2nd gen Integra and Ferrari 458, to name a few. But after an extended absence from the modding hobby, he soon got the itch to own an NSX.

Proper Find

After spending many late nights helping his brother-in-law wrench on his own ride, Montano soon found himself scouring the web for an NSX. He eventually found one just 20 minutes from his house, and it was a gem. The original Silverstone paint was in fantastic condition, and the previous owner had already installed a Comptech supercharger on the car.

Long Process

At first, Montano only planned on swapping out the wheels and installing a front lip on the car. But after he attended Stancenation and Wekfest, those plans quickly changed. Soon, he had ordered a Route KS Madonna widebody kit. But it took a full year in the body shop to make all those panels fit perfectly. Once that was finally finished, he settled on a new color for the car - Green Tea Metallic, a hue that's proven popular on the Honda CR-V.

Perfect Combo

Needless to say, that unique color choice looks absolutely stunning on this NA2. And it's further enhanced by Ganador side mirrors, a Type R-style vented hood and an adjustable Backyard Special rear wing. A set of "Soft Misty Black" powder-coated and staggered (17" and 18") Volk TE37 wheels complete the look with a nice infusion of metallic in the coating.

Modern Touches

Montano further modernized his ride with LED headlights and taillights, along with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear Lucky brakes. On the inside, he ditched a few stock components and replaced them with Recaro Pole Position SL seats, a Sparco flat-bottom wheel with NRG quick-release, NCAUSA carbon fiber panels, and an upgraded stereo.

Rewarding Experience

All of this work was completed mere days before the Super Street x ENEOS Motor Oil contest for SEMA was set to end. But thanks to a heads-up from his brother-in-law and some quick photos, he was able to secure the win and score a spot for his car at the 2019 SEMA show. And that made his long journey to get to this point all worth it.
