This weird creation proves that maybe we've had a bit too much free time on our hands lately.

Odd Duck

Lately, it seems like people just have a lot of time on their hands. And that's leading to a number of strange S2000-based experiments, like the FK8 Civic Type R roadster we featured recently. Now, we've got something even weirder to share - this S2000 wearing a Subaru WRX STi front end from the always-interesting page dubbed Car Front Swaps.

Cringe Worthy

Why would anyone do something like this, you ask? Well, if you visit Car Front Swaps and take a quick gander, you'll notice that they've done some pretty weird stuff like this before - and in most cases, it looks far worse than this. It's all done in fun, of course, but it still makes us cringe just a little.

Just a Dream

Obviously, no one is going to be swapping a WRX front end onto an S2000 in the real world. Or, at least we certainly hope not. This is a face that deserves to be left alone, as does the Subaru, which is a pretty cool little performance car on its own regard.

Borrowed Time?

The WRX is the only one of the two that lives on today, of course, but there's no telling how long it will last as the world continues to eschew performance cars for crossovers and SUVs. Much like the fun roadster has died a slow death, we fear that this rally-inspired ride will soon follow suit as well.

Enticing Offering

Today's STi carries on the tradition of all-wheel-drive, rally-inspired performance with a turbocharged boxer engine that produces 310 horsepower - four more than the FK8 Civic Type R. It's an enticing offering for sure, and one of the more formidable cars on the market in terms of price/performance.

Ongoing Obsession

Of course, a used S2000 can still be had for less money, which leaves plenty in the pocket for performance modifications. And the WRX can't match the S2000's open-air thrills, either. These are just a couple of the reasons why the world remains obsessed with Honda's legendary roadster.

Good for a Laugh

But does that mean that these two cars should have meshed together in some Frankenstein-like experiment? Absolutely not. Regardless, it's good for a laugh, and that's definitely something that we can all use these days.
