Quirkiest of the Quirky

Mega-popular YouTuber Doug DeMuro has reviewed hundreds of vehicles in his time on the internet, pointing out all of their quirks and features to the masses. In 2020, that included Suki's pink S2000 from the ridiculously long-running Fast & Furious movie franchise, which he was able to check out up close and in person at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Perhaps unsurprisingly, that car also won DeMuro's "Quirkiest Car of the Year" award in his "2020 Doug Awards."

Bizarre But Interesting

"This car deserves it," DeMuro notes. "It was so bizarre, so weird and interesting and quirky with all of its movie changes that were put into it to make it. These screen quirks I think were very interesting to see. It's a tour that not a lot of people get all that often."

In Your Face

The most obvious quirk of Suki's S2000 is on the outside, of course, where we find one of the wildest paint jobs ever applied to any vehicle. That bright pink hue is accented by a VeilSide body kit to give the car a proper street/track appearance, along with some seriously impressive airbrush work laid down by artist Noah Elias.

Well Done

DeMuro notes that the exterior of this movie car is very well done, which is common for, well, movie cars. Its comprehensive mods include a front lip spoiler, rear wing, side skirts, and a new rear bumper, all of which have held up surprisingly well over the years.

Interesting Materials

Interior quality, on the other hand, was obviously not a concern when this car was being pieced together by the F&F team. In fact, there are some hilariously bad qualities DeMuro points out in the Honda's cabin, including a fuzzy bath mat that was cut up to cover the shifter boot, center console, and door panels.

Blown but Questionable

Despite this, the movie car does have a Paxton supercharger under the hood, which is functional. However, the wiring under here looks like a bowl of spaghetti, and there's pink overspray everywhere, as it's clear that the crew who built the car didn't bother to do a good job where the camera might not be pointed.

Mixed Experience

When DeMuro drove the car, he also noted that it was a pretty terrible experience. However, even in Los Angeles, where people have seen just about every kind of car imaginable, he drew stares everywhere he went. And we suppose that says something about this incredibly unique yet cobbled-together piece of quirky big-screen lore.
