Making a Comeback

The past couple of years has been a strange time to say the least. For many, this time has been spent under a cloud of uncertainty and in the face of numerous difficulties. It definitely hasn't been the best of times for us auto enthusiasts. Many gatherings have been cancelled, postponed, or limited as a result of the pandemic. Slowly but surely, though, we're making a comeback.

Long Hiatus

It's hard to believe that the last time a Spocom event was held was almost two years ago! The event's organizers have been working tirelessly to bring Spocom back. And they've faced a myriad of obstacles on their way. But this past week, the hard work finally paid off.

Challenging Return

Making certain to adhere to all government mandates and guidelines in regards to the pandemic has been key. Previously planned events in Hawaii and Texas have previously been compromised due to Covid-related limitations. The Hawaii tour was originally set for August 28th, but was later moved to December 4th. And the Texas event was pushed back a couple of weeks from October 2nd to the 16th.

Nice Variety

All the challenges aside, the first Spocom event back proved to be a success. Enthusiasts from around the Southern California region have surely been clamoring for events like this to come back. And unsurprisingly, they turned up in numbers. Various types of builds made appearances. Everything from race cars and street builds to show cars and VIP designs could be found.

The Tour Goes On

Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, Subarus, and Mazdas were out in numbers, as expected. But it wasn't all Japanese cars at the show. European makes like Porsche had a presence, as did American cars. Spocom's return has been long overdue, and we look forward to seeing more of their events over the next few months as they get the tour up and running again.
