Track Action

If there's one thing we never get tired of watching, it's track videos featuring our beloved Honda S2000. Especially the ones where we get to see our cars demolish other, more powerful models. That's certainly the case with this particular video from YouTuber Dino ///MPower. The BMW E46 M3 owner finds himself chasing a highly modified S2000 around the legendary Nurburgring, and the action is most certainly worth a watch.

Mild Combo

The BMW in this video features only mild mods. They include a CSL-style carbon airbox and ECU tune that bump horsepower up to 370. An SMG gearbox handles the power and sends it back to an OS Giken differential and 265/35R18 Yokohama A052 tires. AP brakes slow the 3,200 pound machine down, and this combo has recorded a best 'Ring lap of 7:32.2.

More Power

The S2000, on the other hand, carries a host of mods. The biggest of which is an HKS supercharger, which produces 330 horsepower in tandem with an AEM V2 ECU. With a set of grippy 255/40R17 Federal FZ201 tires at all four corners, the Honda puts that power down rather safely and efficiently, too.

Lazy Laps

The Honda uses its power-to-weight advantage to the max in this video, at some points putting several car lengths on the BMW in certain corners. It doesn't hurt that the S2000 is also running KW springs and XYZ brakes. Even in traffic, this combo is good enough for easy 7:37 laps around the 'Ring.

Cat and Mouse

The BMW does manage to use the superior torque it makes to exit most corners faster than the Honda. But the top-end power of the Honda helps it pull away after that. In longer sections of the track, the S2000 simply walks away each and every time. Then, heading into hard braking corners, the BMW makes up ground thanks to its massive brakes.

Nearly Flawless

For most of this heavyweight bout, the BMW hangs in there as a result. But it does lose considerable ground after entering one corner a tad too late. The S2000 driver also loses some time at the entry to the challenging, off-camber Brunchen. But other than that, it's a pretty flawless effort from both drivers.

Entertaining Battle

Then again, neither driver is pushing their car to the absolute limit. Still, this video is highly entertaining to watch and does a great job of highlighting the many differences between these two unique vehicles. And it's just another example of what makes the S2000 such a fantastic track machine, too.
