Results May Vary

Pretty much anyone - automotive enthusiast or not - knows that things like superchargers and turbochargers add a considerable amount of power to any kind of vehicle out there. Of course, results can and do vary greatly, depending on the vehicle, powertrain, and the type of power adder utilized. This 2007 Honda S2000 that recently crossed the block at Cars & Bids is a proper example of what the right blower can do for these cars, however.

Stealthy Appearance

While it may look largely stock from the outside, this particular S2000 has been treated to a host of upgrades underneath its well-kept Silverstone Metallic bodywork. Regardless, there are a few exterior upgrades worth noting, including the addition of front and rear spoilers, carbon fiber side splitters, clear side markers, and an aftermarket antenna.

Interior Upgrades

Inside the cabin, this S2000 sports black leather and a few aftermarket goodies including an Alpine head unit, a pair of amplifiers, Focal speakers, a JL Audio Stealthbox subwoofer, a retrimmed Rocket Wires steering wheel, shift boot, and arm rest, a Honda Civic Type R shift knob, and red floor mats.

Engine Upgrades

The real story here is what lies under the hood, however, and that's a heavily modified inline-four that's been fitted with a KraftWerks supercharger kit, a Milltek exhaust system, a Berk Technology high-flow catalytic converter, Skunk2 Racing headers, and a dual-fan radiator. Meanwhile, the factory six-speed transmission also features a Clutch Masters FX300 clutch and an upgraded flywheel.

Big Boost

The seller did put his heavily revised ride on the dyno, and the results were undoubtedly impressive. Originally rated to produce 237 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, those numbers rose to 426 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque at the wheels following this round of upgrades.

Suspension and Brakes

Of course, it isn't usually smart to add prodigious amounts of power and not do anything to fortify that suspension or brakes on a car. This S2000 has been beefed up in those areas, however, with the addition of Ohlins adjustable coilovers, Eibach adjustable front and rear sway bars, StopTech brake rotors, Hawk brake pads, and stainless steel braided brake lines.

Appealing Combination

All of those bits and pieces make this S2000 not only a hoot to drive - but also a pretty cool sleeper of sorts, given how stock it looks. That combination proved appealing at auction too, as this modified ride ultimately hammered for $36,000.
