Jump Start

Buying a modified car is typically a mixed bag. On one hand, you can score a bargain, as no one ever gets any sort of return on investment when it comes to mods. But if those mods weren't installed correctly, it can also turn into a nightmare. The solution, of course, is to buy from a proper enthusiast like the folks at S2Ki. And this modded AP1 for sale in the S2Ki Marketplace looks like a great way to get a jump start on building a turbo car.

Making Power

The seller purchased this car stock from a dealer four years ago, then proceeded to do quite a bit of work to it. That started under the hood with a KLM Fabrication 6266 BB turbo with Dual Tial wastegates and a dyno tune. The resulting combination makes 480 horsepower on pump gas, and the motor has just 500 miles on it while boosted.

New Threads

On the inside, the seller installed a set of Recaro DC5R seats that look great and provide a good amount of support. Otherwise, the interior remains in stock yet solid condition, which is to be expected on a car that has just 52k miles on the clock.

Making a Switch

The AP1 originally had a Doctronic ECU in it and a tune from IMW, but the seller later switched to a Hondata setup and retuned the car, which helped it make a bit more power. And since the S2000 has lived its life in the garage, it's remained in very nice condition on the exterior as well.

Ground Hugger

Other than the aforementioned mods, this S2000 has also been treated to a set of HKS coilovers and a brand new set of 245/40/17 Potenza Re71R tires. That combo helps it hug the ground and stay a little more planted in the corners, a good thing given the increase in power.

Rarely Used

Regardless, it's clear that the seller hasn't driven his car much over the last four years. In fact, he's only added 3,000 miles to the odometer in that time period. So we certainly can't blame him for thinking about selling it.

Big Shortcut
