What You Can Do To Modify Your Interior

It's not like the S2000 interior is bad, but you can always make it better. Here's how.

1. Steering Wheel

An aftermarket steering wheel is an obvious choice for a quick and easy interior upgrade. After all, you might as well reward your hands with some nice, plush material to grab onto, right? Certain aftermarket steering wheel options can also serve another, very important purpose - making it easier to get in an out of your car. Complete steering wheel packages are available that include a quick release adapter so you can easily pop the wheel on and off to make ingress and egress much easier. No more bruised knees!

2. Seats

Everybody's got their own opinion when it comes to seats. And obviously, the most comfortable and supportive choice depends on your, uh, physical makeup. Thankfully, S2000 owners have plenty of aftermarket options to choose from. Buddy Club has been around for quite some time, offering up a whole line of S2000 parts. Their Race Spec series bucket seats, in particular, are a popular choice for those who favor supportiveness over adjustability. Heck, they're even easy to install in the S2000's notoriously cramped interior.

3. Shift Knob

Installing an aftermarket shift knob is a real no-brainer. For starters, changing out your factory knob with a nice feeling custom piece is one of the easiest mods you'll ever complete. Plus, it's incredibly cheap, depending on which one you go with. And whether you opt for a lighter piece or a heavier one, a new knob will make a big difference in the way your gear shifts feel. Since you obviously spend a lot of time rowing through the gears in your ride, that's certainly a good thing.

4. Dash Mods

The S2000 interior is a spartan, simple place to be - by design. But that doesn't mean you can't completely change the look and feel of it with some dash mods. Whether you pick up an entire dash kit with carbon fiber bits or decide to go the DIY route, this is a great way to upgrade your interior. If you have the will and the means, you can even do some real custom work like EuroBoutique. Here, he handcrafted a new bezel to seamlessly integrate a bigger aftermarket radio. And it looks killer!

5. Carpeting

There's nothing quite like the feel of a piece of quality carpeting under your feet. Especially when it looks as good as these mats from Muz. Most aftermarket S2000 mats cover most of the floor, which is the next best thing to replacing your entire coffee-stained carpet. Materials run the gauntlet as well and include everything from wool to synthetic materials.
