Default Powder Coating Brake Calipers Around Boston

Anyone know of a good shop to have brake calipers powder coated? My car is going to need pads and rotors all the way around, so figured this would be a good opportunity to have them powder coated. Will also do a brake fluid flush.

Good you were thinking of flushing the brake fuild as you will lose most of it taking the calipers off the car. Powder coating includes baking so you need to remove the calipers and mounting brackets, dissemble them, remove any rubber seals that may get damaged from the oven, etc. It is a big job to do it right. Or you could paint them. G2 makes caliper paint, around $35.

Would rather spend the money to do it right. Want it to look "factory".

While the rears can be a bit of a b!tch, PC'd calipers are awesome.

I took mine off and replaced with some temporary calipers. I tore mine apart, dremeled them smooth and gave them to my brother to powder coat. He used a high temp powder and they have held up VERY well even with dozens of track days on them using race pads.

High temp coating from a company like por15 would hold up just as well as PC, and be 10x easier. Rear caliper is a pain.. e-brake, etc.

just saying clean and paint is a couple of hours and 50 bucks. If you brought it to a shop and said PC them it would be a week and several hundred dollars for labor. The PC part is the easy part, tearing them down and putting the back together again is the hard part. As mentioned port15 or G2 make paint for calipers. I have used the G2 before, it is two part epoxy paint. Even if you paint them once a year it is way easier than PC.

For something hidden behind your wheels with much of it's life covered in brake dust I just do think it is a lot of bang for buck. Not saying not to bro just letting you know it is a lot of time and money. Go for it!

Found a place that is a mile from my house, Pike Powder Coating. Price will be under $200 in over 6K color choice; includes sanding down casting marks. Quick turnaround.

Now the question is what color?

Car is an '07 Jag XK Coupe in seafrost green with normal silvery painted wheels.

I had my RL calipers powdercoated from a guy down in NJ. Needpowdedercoating.com , had to ship the calipers to him, solid colors were around $150~175 for the pair of calipers. I opted for the candy teal, $250.
