Drop links £620! Sure I could get non Honda links at £100 for all 4, yep a couple of hours easy on the driveway to change, less if you have a disc cutter to get the old ones out.

Also when being serviced the health check flagged drop link dust covers all perished and in need of replacement. Plus some lugs missing. Honda have quoted £620 to do front and back. Seems to be 2hrs labor plus parts.

What are peoples thoughts on that price?
Lugs missing?

You can buy drop links at £10 a corner, it might take 2-3hrs DIY. i have done a lot of them, just smash the bar off with a hammer and then grip the ball head with mole grips. I was quoted £190 to replace both on the Qashqai before we sold, I did one, took 20 minutes and cost £12. S is harder as there is less room

If the nuts don't want to come off, then get some MAP gas and heat them till they are cherry red. They will come off quite easily then.

Very timely, I did my rear drop-links last Saturday (fronts were done last year). As above, eBay or aftermarket is the way to go, £620 is just ridiculous. For info, I got my rears from eBay and they were a shade over £25.

They were a pain to get off, even after the approved method of smashing the ball joint cover off but after a good deal of swearing and a few cups of tea, they were defeated.

Well done for persevering.

I did mine too with the help of extra pair of hands. I went for the drop links on Tegiwa which came to about £116. All done and happy I didnt pay honda £620...

The car has now passed its MOT (Mileage 43,689). Although not all smooth sailing. Dash threw up EML on a couple of occasions which I had to clear. I suspect after market cat that went on last august to be the culprit. Mechanic just about got it through emissions test.

DI'd you properly warm it up? I book in (use in n out) and then take the car straight in after some VTEC

My own sails through (still on original O2) but the boosted one is a challenge usually

oh and good work by the way!

Okay, next year ill make sure I do that. My journey to test center didn't give me any opportunity to floor it (traffic etc). Plus I couldn't deviate and make the drive longer really as the vehicle wasn't taxed (due no MOT)..
