Default wet vs dry sleeve

I picked up a 100k used long lock for cheap, had a spare f20c short block with la sleeves line pro rods and cp pistons but sold it. The one just picked up needs to be bored or sleeved because #4 is scored, really dont want to go with boring and mahle pistons. looking into having it sleeved sending it to golden eagle or linepro but it would be much cheaper using dart dry sleeve and have them installed local. Just don't know how they hold up over time, anyone using them please share how they hold up or any problem's overheating, dropping, spinning ect if i can save money doing the dry without asking for problem's I will go that way but if not I will just wet sleeve it thanks.

I have been running Dart Dry sleeves for 6K without any problems so far..

Making 485hp @ 17psi.

See my UK build thread - https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/101.../page__st__175

Realstreet basically told me that these are fine for up to 650whp.

I doubt I'll be going beond that but will be getting close this spring ;-)

Is there a need for a block guard, I see it gets very thin after boring for the dry sleeve.

What's the plan for your car? as stated above I think 600-650whp is a safe limit on dry sleeves, are you blasting off to the moon

Yer not gonna break that dry sleeve, plus keeping the oem open deck surface is prob better for cooling.

No big crazy power goal just want to have a good spare engine so when my stock one blows. 650whp is about were I want to be but if I ever up grade to 8.8 and a stronger trans I would want to be around 800whp, so something that could handle that if I ever spend the money to beef up the drivetrain. Just don't want to regret not wet sleeving it later on.

It sounds like you're gonna want bigger power later on lol get the wet sleeve so you won't have any regrets...for me a dry sleeve will suit me as I don't want more than 450whp for the S and have no plans of upgrading the tranny and will use PuddyMod's stage 2 diff
